About
This work uses Brahms’ piano masterpiece Intermezzo in A major, Op. 118, No. 2 in its entirety. While it is not an arrangement, per se, there are optional ossia passages in the piano part which can serve to make it somewhat less challenging.
Music by Johannes Brahms.
An original text explores peace as presented in numerous scriptural passages, most notably Christ’s commanding the elements to “be still.” An introspective and personal middle section addresses ways in which each of us can, at times, fall short of claiming the peace of God, after which the return of the original theme is accompanied by a text acknowledging Christ as the giver of all peace.
Text by Robert W. Davis.
